Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of therapy do you offer?
I provide evidence-based therapy tailored to your unique needs, using approaches such as CBT, DBT, ERP, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused techniques. Together, we’ll find the strategies that work best for you.
2. Who do you work with?
I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns. Everyone’s journey is different, and I aim to meet you where you are.
3. How can therapy help me?
Therapy offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, learn coping strategies, and gain clarity on challenges. It’s not just for crises—therapy can help you grow, heal, and navigate life more effectively.
4. How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an initial 15 minute phone consultation online, by phone, or via email. I aim to make the process simple and accessible.
5. Do you offer teletherapy or in-person sessions?
I offer exclusively teletherapy for residents of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Massachusetts.
6. What are your fees and do you accept insurance?
Session fees are $145 per clinical hour for private pay clients and I also accept several major insurance plans.
7. How long are sessions, and how often should I attend?
Sessions are typically 55 minutes. Most clients start weekly or biweekly, but we’ll create a plan that fits your goals and schedule.
8. What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a time for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your goals, explore what brings you to therapy, and decide together how to move forward.
9. How long will therapy last?
Therapy is tailored to you. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from ongoing support. Your goals will guide the process.
10. Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything we discuss is private and protected under HIPAA, with a few exceptions required by law (risk of harm to yourself or others, or abuse reporting).
11. What if I don’t feel comfortable in therapy?
It’s normal to feel nervous at first. Therapy works best when there’s a good fit, and your feedback is important. If something isn’t working, we’ll address it together or discuss other options.
12. Do you provide therapy for couples or families?
I primarily work with individuals. If you’re interested in couples or family therapy, I can provide referrals to qualified providers.
13. Can therapy help even if I’m not in crisis?
Absolutely. Therapy is beneficial for personal growth, improving relationships, managing stress, and gaining self-awareness—not just for emergencies.
14. What should I do if I’m experiencing a mental health emergency?
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. You can also contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 (U.S.) or your local emergency services.
